Definition of Foam Pump
The Plastic Foam Pump is a pump product that presses the contents together with air to form foam. It is often used in the packaging of hand sanitizers, Detergent and other products (Foam Pump Bottle / Hand Sanitizers Bottle / Foaming Soap Dispenser bottle ect).
The Development History of Foam Pump
Before the invention of the foam pump, the foam was usually sprayed by an aerosol type product, that is, the liquefied gas was used to expand the spray to form a foam, or the sprayed colloid was used to form a foam by using a post-foaming agent. The first true daily foam pump was the finger pump foamer launched by Airspray in the Netherlands in 1995.
The characteristic of this kind of finger pressure foam pump is that its body is composed of two parts: air pump and liquid pump. The liquid is sprayed out after being fully mixed with air in the pump body. Effect, the sprayed foam quality is good.
Compared with foam aerosol products, the finger pressure foam pump has several obvious advantages: First, it does not need to be filled with propellants, so it will not pollute the environment, and there is no danger of inflammability and explosion, and no metal containers and Sealing air filling equipment is low in cost and can be used repeatedly; secondly, most of the liquid formulas of finger pressure foam pumps are water-based, which are non-volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in nature, and are more valuable for promotion; thirdly, they can be used Containers of various shapes, including square, triangular, oval, etc. In addition, there is no pressure in the container before use, and the material requirements for the container are relatively large.
In the late 1990s, the development of finger pressure Foam Pumps emerged in China. Because the structural principle of the finger-pressure foam pump is similar to that of ordinary plastic pump heads, some manufacturers who originally engaged in plastic pump heads first got involved in the product development of finger-pressure foam pumps. After more than ten years of experience accumulation, the relevant product technology and production capacity have increased substantially. Although some domestic manufacturers of finger-pressure foam pumps have made great progress, there is still a lot of room for improvement in product stability and production yield, and companies generally do not invest enough in research and development, and professional theoretical knowledge and technological innovation cannot keep up. The single product variety, severe industry competition, and the lack of core patents also prevent products from entering the international market. These are not conducive to the long-term development of the industry.
Compared with domestic counterparts, foreign counterparts have made continuous progress in technological innovation. Starting from the first generation of finger pressure foam pumps, there have been many innovations in appearance and structure, and each company has formed its own core technology. Among them, Korean and Japanese companies have greatly surpassed in the daily chemical packaging industry. European and American counterparts.
Foam Pump Applications
After the launch of the finger-pressure foam pump, it has won the favor of daily chemical brand manufacturers and achieved rapid market growth. It has been widely used in personal care, household cleaning, automotive supplies, pet supplies and other industries.
At present, the most widely used domestic finger pressure foam pump is in the hand sanitizer industry. In 2002, Walch took the lead in launching magic foam hand sanitizer in the domestic market, becoming the first domestic brand manufacturer to launch foam hand sanitizer products. After the launch of the magic foam hand sanitizer, it has been fully recognized by consumers for its practicality, convenience, simplicity, beautiful packaging and ability to effectively reduce secondary cross-infection. After seeing the huge market potential of foam hand sanitizer, other daily chemical brand manufacturers launched their own foam hand sanitizer products one after another.
Description of Foam Pump Product Structure
The finger pressure foam pump is mainly divided into the following five parts from the internal structure of the product:
Actuating part: the function is to transmit the force to other parts inside the product by pressing the button, and realize the process of pressing down and rebounding the foam pump and liquid out through the spring. The shape of the press head can be designed into different shapes and colors according to the needs (as shown in the picture above).
Liquid storage chamber: the function is to squeeze out the liquid in the liquid storage chamber during the pressing down of the head, and suck the liquid in the bottle into the liquid storage chamber when the head is rebounded; in addition, the built-in spring in the liquid storage chamber plays the role of rebound.
Air storage chamber: similar to the liquid storage chamber, except that air is inhaled and extruded from the air storage chamber.
Suction tube part: the connection part between the liquid in the bottle and the whole pump, the channel through which the liquid enters the liquid storage chamber, to ensure that the liquid in the bottle can be sprayed out quickly and reduce the residual amount of liquid
Gas-liquid mixing chamber: When the head is pressed down, the liquid and air in the liquid storage chamber and the air storage chamber are fully mixed and pressurized in the gas-liquid mixing chamber, and fine foam is formed through the dense mesh of the airflow mixing chamber.
The working principle of the foam pumps seen on the market is basically the same. Compared with the traditional pump, the structure of the entire finger pressure foam pump is more complicated, and there is an additional air storage chamber. The pump is the core part of the whole product work, which determines the size of the liquid output, foam effect and stability.
The following figure is a typical structural diagram of a finger pressure foam pump:
1. Actuator 2. Reticalated Foam 3. Big Piston 4. Closure 5. Gasket 6. Small Piston
7. Needle Valve 8. Slice Valve 9. Housing 10. Spring 11. Spring Seat 12. Glass Ball 13. Dip Tube
When the foam pump is pressed and the actuator 1 is pressed during use, the large piston 3, the small piston 6 and related parts are driven downward, and the load is applied to the spring 10. The glass ball is in a closed state, and the liquid in the liquid storage tank is squeezed due to the small change in the space of the liquid storage tank. The pressure goes up along the liquid outlet channel and mixes with the air discharged from the air storage tank through the reticalated foam. The surfactant contained in the liquid is mixed with the air to form a foam and is discharged from the pump nozzle; when the foam pump is released and the actuator is pressed, the spring pushes The piston goes up, the air storage bag and the inner shape of the liquid storage bag form a load pressure, the slice valve enters the airway and is opened, the air enters the air storage bag, and at the same time the glass ball is in an open state, and the liquid enters the liquid storage tank through the straw; and so on.
Foam Pump Technical Requirements and Key Points of Production Quality Control
The following is based on the most common types of foam pumps on the market, and describes the main technical requirements and quality control points in the process of foam pump production and shipment, which are divided into two categories: appearance and function inspection points.
1. Main points of appearance inspection
Appearance inspection requires visual inspection at a distance of 40cm from the paper under natural light or 40W light. The appearance of the foam pump should be complete and free of defects, clean and intact as a whole, without scratches on the surface.
2. Key points of functional inspection
