As a commonly used packaging accessory, lotion pump is widely used in daily chemical, cleaning and care industries. Whether the customer chooses the lotion pump product, or the manufacturer recommends the lotion pump to the end customer, factors such as bottle size, material compatibility, material viscosity/fluidity, pump output, and packaging form need to be considered.
1. Select according to the caliber specifications of the lotion pump and bottle
The Plastic Lotion Pump and the Plastic Bottle mouth are generally based on thread fit, and there is a general standard in the industry.
Generally, suppliers produce Lotion Dispenser Pumps according to this standard, and customers choose lotion pumps according to this specification.
The common diameters are 18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 28mm, 33mm, 38mm, and the common specifications are 400, 410, 415.
What is a neck finish?
A container’s neck finish holds the cap, stopper, or closure with protruding threads. A container and its corresponding cap must have matching finishes. View the chart below to find out how bottle closures and neck finishes are sized.
The sealing test item in the inspection and quality control is to fill the bottle with colored water (or material body) according to the product specifications, and use the corresponding torque according to different calibers to match the pump head with the bottle. The head is locked and horizontal. Placement, vacuum test -0.03 ~ -0.06MPa/5min (different customer requirements are inconsistent). After the test, there is no leakage at the joint between the bottle and the thread, the joint between the body and the lock cap, and the press head. At the same time, it is required that the screw teeth and the bottle mouth cooperate smoothly, without sliding teeth, blocking, and skewing.
The bottle mouth adopts injection molding, the process is more stable, the mouth size and thread precision are high, and it can meet the high sealing requirements. In terms of the structure of the bottle mouth of the product, the following aspects are generally considered:
The First is the shape. Generally, the shape of the bottle mouth is designed to be round. The round shape is more conducive to ensuring the dimensional accuracy of the bottle mouth and better matching with the lid when sealing and blow molding. The distribution of the wall thickness of the bottle body.
The Second is the bottle mouth structure, which is generally divided into thread structure and buckle structure. The thread structure is more conducive to the sealing effect of the bottle and the cap. It is often used in pharmaceutical packaging, liquid beverages, and cosmetic bottle packaging. It is also used in conjunction with various threaded caps, safety caps, nozzles and pump heads, etc., to ensure high sealing reliability. The size and form of the thread can be flexibly selected according to the needs of the product. The buckle structure is often used for solid or paste packaging, and can also be used for liquid packaging. The advantage is that it is easy to use and suitable for high-speed filling. However, when it is used as liquid packaging, it is necessary to pay attention to the design of the cover material, sealing structure and interference, and at the same time to do a good job of process control to ensure its tightness.
The Third is the size of the bottle mouth. For PET, the size of the bottle mouth is more flexible, but for PP materials that are more suitable for forming jars, the bottle mouth should not be too small, otherwise it will have a greater impact on the product forming and wall thickness distribution. Influence. Generally speaking, the ratio of the diameter of the bottle body to the diameter of the bottle mouth is less than 2 times.
2. Select according to the viscosity/fluidity of the material liquid
Regarding the viscosity/fluidity of the feed liquid, the brand side will have specific data, but for emulsion pump manufacturers, these data are lacking.
Usually, the material liquid can be poured into the beaker and judged according to the liquid level:
A. The liquid level can reach the level in an instant, without any traces on the liquid surface. All emulsion pumps and derivative pumps can be used, and only need to consider the characteristics of the material liquid formula to choose the right one.
B. The liquid level can quickly reach the level, but there are slight accumulation marks on the liquid surface. The spray pump needs to verify its spray effect. Other emulsion pumps and derivative pumps can be used.
C. If the liquid level can reach the level within 1-2 seconds, and there are obvious signs of accumulation on the liquid level, it is necessary to use a lotion pump with strong suction and spring force. High viscosity pumps are preferred, followed by vacuum tank/bottle packaging.
D. There are obvious signs of accumulation on the liquid surface, and it cannot reach the level state in a short time. High-viscosity pumps also need to be verified. Prioritize the use of vacuum tank/bottle packaging, or choose lid packaging.
E. Turn the beaker with the feed liquid upside down. The feed liquid cannot be poured out in a short time, and only vacuum tanks, or other packaging forms such as lids, hoses, and cans can be used.
3. Select according to the compatibility of the emulsion pump raw material and the material body
Must be able to pass compatibility tests. Put the finished product that has sprayed out the liquid in a high-temperature box for 7 days, take it out and take it apart to observe that there are no cracks, rust, deformation, etc. on each part, and the liquid has no discoloration and odor, which is qualified.
4. Select according to the range of pump output
Before the product goes on the market, there is generally a consumer survey link, basically there will be a preliminary suggested usage. According to this amount of use, the specification of the lotion pump can be selected according to this, or the integer pumping times of the pumped amount can reach the recommended amount of use. General: Suggested usage = (1-2) * pumped volume.
For example: if the recommended dosage is 1.0ml/time, you can choose a lotion pump with a pumping volume of 1.0ml/time, or a lotion pump with a pumping volume of 0.5ml/time.
5. Select according to the final packaging form
The packaging capacity has been confirmed, and then according to the size of the packaging capacity and the expected number of uses, select the specification of the lotion pump. Generally, the number of times a package is used is 100-300 times.
Example 1: It has been confirmed that the 100ml bottle is confirmed, and the specification of the lotion pump can be 1.0ml/time, and it can be used about 100 times, or the specification of the lotion pump can be 0.5ml/time, and it can be used about 200 times.
Example 2: The 500ml bottle has been confirmed. The specification of the lotion pump can be 2.0ml/time, and it can be used about 250 times, or the specification of the lotion pump can be 3.5ml/time, and it can be used about 140 times.
